TWHS’s Nixon Gorka Claims State Academic Championship

The Woodlands High School senior Nixon Gorka earned the University Interscholastic League 6A State Academic Championship in Current Issues and Events.

Gorka voluntarily participated in extracurricular programs, such as literary criticism, which were guided by members of CISD. She studied current events from all around the world, and performed an essay prompt that included Texas education. She was also the Co-President of TWHS’s Model United Nations.

Gorka will continue her education at the University of Oklahoma, where she will be majoring in history.
