Principal of Grand Oaks High School Named at Board Meeting
At their meeting Tuesday night, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees approved James “Buddy” Bush as the new principal of Grand Oaks High School.
In addressing the Board, Mr. Bush stated, “Thank you for this tremendous opportunity. It’s been a privilege to steer a part of the flagship throughout the last two years as we have survived the waves of a pandemic, growth in construction, and everything in between. In Conroe ISD we talk about growing our own, and I am an example of this. To the Grand Oaks Community and Grizzly Nation, I am so excited to meet you. I am excited to learn about you and learn with you. Dr. Povich and his staff have done incredible work in such a short time to build such a solid foundation. I’m looking forward to working with Dr. Povich and continuing the legacy he created. Our mission together will be to continue to build upon those roots and grow Grand Oaks High School.”
Buddy Bush began serving in Conroe ISD as an Assistant Principal at The Woodlands High School Ninth Grade Campus in 2017. He assumed his current role as Principal at Conroe High School Ninth Grade Campus in 2020.
Mr. Bush is filling the position held by Dr. Christopher Povich who will be transitioning to the role of Assistant Superintendent of High Schools.
Family, friends, mentors, and colleagues joined her at the meeting to show their support.
