Credit by Exam for Acceleration
Conroe ISD offers Credit by Exam (CBE) for acceleration (without prior instruction) four times a year. Contact your school counselor or see the student handbook for more information about Credit by Exam. Conroe ISD uses UT Austin K-12 School CBEs.
Students who earn a score of 80% or higher on a CBE for acceleration must be given credit for the course test and must advance to the next course. Once the student has tested and earned the required score, credit may not be refused.
Some tests require that the student prepare ahead of time by completing a portfolio, completing an activity log, or completing required reading. See the study guide for the course to ensure that you are prepared for and have completed the required activities for the test.
Reminder: CBE request forms must be submitted by your counselor by the end of the school day on the date that the registration window closes. Late registrations will not be accepted.
The test date will be selected by the Assessment Department and you will be notified by both email and mail of the exact date, time, and location. Students must be available on both testing dates as we cannot honor requests for specific dates.
Registrations are for a specific administration window. The test may not be rescheduled for a different administration.
