Conroe ISD Welcomes New Teachers at 2018 Intro to CISD Conference

Conroe ISD hired approximately 550 teachers for the 2018-19 school year and welcomed them to the District during the Intro to CISD staff development that took place Monday, July 30, through Wednesday, August 1, at The Woodlands High School. Over the three days, teachers participated in a conference style event that helped them become acquainted with all things CISD. This year, new hires had the assistance of an app to help them plan which of the over 200 sessions they would attend.

The event was not only a time for new teachers to learn about District-focused initiatives and curriculum, but it was also a time for them to meet new colleagues. Throughout the 3-day event, teachers were able to peruse a Classroom Showcase designed to highlightthe best instructional practices for all grade levels and contents. Attendees were even treated to instructional demonstrations with groups of students.
