Conroe ISD Students Receive Awards for Peace-themed Bookmarks

Fifteen Conroe ISD students received awards for their participation in the Third Annual Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest hosted by the Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County.

Students in grades K-8 were asked to create bookmarks based on the theme of resolving or preventing conflict including topics such as peer mediation, talking things out, apologizing, respecting differences, solving problems together, listening, tolerance, building peace, or alternatives to violence. Entries were judged on creativity and message. The winners in each category received monetary prizes of $75 for first place; $50 for second place; $25 for third place; and $10 for honorable mention.

The following students from Conroe ISD were recognized from among the 2,200 entries from across Montgomery County:

Winning students were honored at a ceremony and reception at the 359th Judicial Court on Friday, October 21, 2016. The Honorable Judge Kathleen Hamilton presented the awards.
