Conroe ISD Named Forbes 2023 Best-In-State Employers for Texas

CONROE, TEXAS (August 30, 2023) – Conroe ISD has been recognized on Forbes’ fifth annual list as one of its Best-In-State Employers for Texas for the second consecutive year. Conroe ISD is one of six school districts in the State to make the list.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 70,000 workers at companies (minimum 500 employees) in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Participants were asked if they would recommend their employer to others, and to evaluate their employer based on working conditions, diversity, compensation packages, potential for development, company image and more. Participants also assessed employers beyond their own. All surveys were anonymous to encourage candor. As with all Forbes lists, companies pay no fee to participate.

“Conroe ISD is a great place to be because of our amazing teachers, administrators, and staff,” remarked Dr. Curtis Null, Conroe ISD Superintendent. “I’m so thankful to be able to work with each of them as we serve our community to educate students.”

Established in 1892, Conroe ISD encompasses 348 square miles, the second-largest district geographically among the top 24 enrollments in Texas, and includes The Woodlands, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, Conroe, and Grangerland, as well as several other smaller towns, communities, and unincorporated areas. As the ninth largest district in Texas and 60th largest in the country, Conroe ISD is projected to serve over 73,000 students across 70 campuses in the 23-24 school year and is one of the fastest-growing districts in the state with current enrollment growth exceeding 3,000 students per year.

In addition to being the largest school district in Montgomery County, Conroe ISD is also its largest employer with more than 11,000 employees, including substitutes. For 2023, Niche named Conroe ISD the Best School District, Most Diverse School District, Best Places to Teach, and Best School District for Athletes in Montgomery County.
