Saturday Reading FUN! We are thankful for Astros excitement for learning and our families support.

2nd grade is exploring the world of art through Vincent Van Gogh, our students brought sunflowers to life with color and imagination. A huge thanks to Mrs. Terry for making art a creative learning experience for our Astros!

Our 4th grade teachers and students brought the fun to reading engagement today with a creative Starbucks-themed learning experience! ☕📚 Students are building their confidence and reading stamina as they prepare for the STAAR test this Tuesday. Our 4th grade Astros worked with paired passages today, exploring both a nonfiction text and a poem! Students identified the genre of each selection and prepared themselves to think strategically about the type of information they should gather while reading. It was great to see their engagement and thoughtful approach as they strengthened their comprehension skills and built confidence as readers. Way to go, 4th grade!

Our 4th grade Astros were hard at work today diving into fractions! Students collaborated with partners, used strategies to deepen their understanding, and stayed actively engaged in their learning throughout the lesson. We are proud of the focus, teamwork, and perseverance they are showing as they continue to grow their math skills each day. Keep up the great work, 4th grade! 🚀

🚀 Mission Possible STAAR Success Parade & Pep Rally! 🚀

Armstrong Elementary invites all 3rd and 4th grade parents to join us for our Mission Possible STAAR Success Parade and Pep Rally on Monday, April 13th!

Please arrive by 1:45 PM so you can be staged along the parade path. The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 PM.

As our students prepare for the Reading STAAR on April 14th, we want them to feel the strong support of both home and school. Let’s come together to cheer them on and remind them how proud we are of their hard work.

We are their biggest fans and believe in all our ASTROS!

It’s inspiring to see their focus, teamwork, and determination as they prepare for the upcoming STAAR assessments this month, April 14th reading and April 28th math. Huge thank you to HEB for hosting Armstrong Elementary this evening! Our families had an amazing time participating in a fun in-store scavenger hunt, solving grocery shopping math problems, and bringing math to life. We appreciate the support and creativity that made this experience memorable! 🛒✨

Mark your calendars & save the date for Wednesday after Sprung Break. Join us on March 18th for a fun-filled Family Math Night. We’re partnering with H-E-B on North Frazier to bring our community an exciting math scavenger hunt in the store with prizes, and hands-on activities for the whole family. This is a Title I Family & Community Event, and we can’t wait to learn, play, and celebrate math together! 👉 Bring the kids, bring your energy, and get ready for some math fun!

2026 Color Run was filled with fun! Thank you to all who participated.

🚀🎨 Astros, It’s Time to Sign Up for the Color Run! 🎨🚀 Be sure to get your Astro signed up for this year’s Color Run if you haven’t done so already! This is our annual campus fundraiser, and it’s always one of the most exciting days of the year at Armstrong Elementary School! Your registration fee includes: ✅ Entry to participate in the Color Run 👕 One official Armstrong Astro t-shirt for your student We encourage all parents and families to come out and cheer on your Astro! Bring signs, posters, and noise makers to help us create a high-energy, fun-filled atmosphere for our students. Let’s make it a day full of color, laughter, and Astro pride! 💙❤️ 🧹 Volunteer Help Needed: If you have a cordless leaf blower and are willing to bring it to help us clean students off after the run, we would greatly appreciate your support! 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year: Ms. Rangel Ms. Rangel is committed to excellence in everything she does. As the third-grade team leader and a member of our HQIM committee supporting the math adoption for the 2026–2027 school year, she continues to make a strong impact across our campus. Her strength in math planning is evident while providing quality instruction in the classroom to grow our Astros. She consistently opens her classroom to others during learning walks while also seeking opportunities to grow her own practice. Her dedication to continuous improvement truly sets the standard for excellence. She has built strong connections across campus and cultivates meaningful relationships with her students, creating a classroom environment where they feel supported, challenged, and valued.
