Conroe ISD proudly celebrated the dedication of W. Robert Eissler Elementary, one of the district’s newest campuses. Families, staff, district leaders, and community members gathered to recognize both the opening of the campus and the legacy of its namesake, longtime public education advocate Rob Eissler.
Principal Elizabeth Thompson opened the program by welcoming guests and inviting The Woodlands High School Air Force JROTC to present the colors. Following the Presentation of Colors, student Penelope Gonzales led the audience in the pledges.
Guests were treated to performances by the Eissler 5th and 6th Grade Songbird Chorale who sang “An Adventure” by Teresa Jennings and “Eissler Eagles Soar” by Melanie Sims.
During her remarks, Board President Misty Odenweller highlighted the significance of opening a new campus in a growing district. “Every new school marks growth, opportunity, and a new community coming together,” Odenweller said. “It is a privilege to honor a man who has given so much to this district and to public education in Texas. Robert Eissler’s years of leadership and dedication have left a lasting legacy that will continue through the halls of this school.”
Superintendent Dr. David Vinson followed with remarks recognizing other Conroe ISD school namesakes in attendance and expressing appreciation for the design and construction teams from Arcadis and Marshall Construction.
Rob Eissler, former state representative, Conroe ISD Board Member, and longtime supporter of Texas public schools, then addressed the audience. His remarks reflected on the value of public education and the honor of having a campus carry his name.
The evening concluded with the unveiling of Mr. Eissler’s official portrait, presented by President Odenweller and Dr. Vinson. The portrait will hang at the entrance of the school as a daily reminder of the values and service it represents.
Rob Eissler Elementary opened its doors in August and serves families in The Woodlands Feeder Zone.
