Principals Named at Board Meeting

The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees approved the naming of two new principals at their meeting on Tuesday, April 18. San Jacinto Elementary and Caney Creek High School will both have new leadership for the 2017-18 academic year.

Krista McWilliams, assistant principal at Reaves Elementary, was named principal of San Jacinto Elementary. Krista has served in Conroe ISD since 2002 in the roles of special education paraprofessional, special education teacher, special education district coach, district literacy coach, campus literacy coach and assistant principal.

In her remarks to the Board, she stated, “I want to begin this evening by saying how excited and honored I am to stand before you tonight. This is my 15th year in Conroe ISD, and I’m proud to say that I have truly worked my way up. I believe that all of the positions I have held have prepared me to become a principal.” Krista concluded by saying, “I promise to work hard, ask questions, laugh a lot, and most importantly strive to impact the lives of the students, staff, parents and community of San Jacinto Elementary.”

Dr. Jeff Stichler, currently principal of Moorhead Junior High,
was named principal of Caney Creek High School. Dr. Stichler has served in Conroe ISD since 1999. He began in the District as a math teacher and coach and has been an assistant principal, associate principal, and the principal of Conroe High School Ninth Grade Campus.

“When I came to Caney Creek High School as a coach 18 years ago, I knew I’d found a special place. Working there for seven years made me realize that this school is my home. Now having the opportunity to serve the students, parents, and faculty as principal is a dream come true,” shared Dr. Stichler as he addressed the Board. “I’m excited to think of the great things in store for Caney Creek in the years to come, and I’m honored that you’ve entrusted me to be a part of it.”
