Mrs. Misty Odenweller

TERM: November 2022 – November 2026

Campaign Filings:

Misty Odenweller was elected to the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees in November 2022. Though she started out as a business major, Odenweller found her passion and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 with a degree in education. She has taught in public and private elementary schools and has written and aligned curriculum for both. Her background has provided her the understanding that success in the educational system is found in a symbiotic relationship between the home and the school.

As a teacher, Odenweller worked to keep parents informed to provide high quality education. She believes that success in the classroom begins with the engagement, inclusion, and involvement of the parent in the education experience. She understands that collaboration with the parent is the only way for a child to grow as a student. Her drive for teaching was discovered through watching three of her siblings struggle with learning disabilities and carried on when she became the parent of a child with multiple learning disabilities. These experiences motivated Odenweller to provide innovative and meaningful lessons that would positively impact each type of student. She incorporated technology and adaptations when applicable to ensure each child’s learning style was accommodated.

With more than two decades of entrepreneurial expertise, Odenweller has cultivated a diverse range of successful business ventures. She first made her mark as the owner of a Better Homes and Gardens Top 10 Quilt Shop, where she built a thriving wholesale and retail business that became one of the tops in the nation. Her leadership and strategic vision helped grow the business into a well-respected name in the quilting industry.

In more recent years, Odenweller has expanded her entrepreneurial portfolio to include a homecoming mum business, which has garnered widespread recognition. Featured by all three local news networks and several state publications, her mum business has become the standard statewide in the homecoming mum market.

Additionally, Odenweller has contributed her expertise to grow the homecoming mum industry through her role on the Board of Mum Inc., where she served for over five years.

This experience, coupled with her deep understanding of management, business development, and financial analysis, has equipped her with the skills to navigate complex business challenges and drive sustained growth.

A longtime resident of Spring, Texas, Odenweller is grateful to have both of her adult children and her two grandsons living within five miles of her home. She and her husband, Keith, consider themselves truly blessed to have such a close-knit family.
