Scott Moore is a product of Conroe ISD schools. After moving to The Woodlands in 5th grade, he attended Wilkerson Intermediate, Knox Junior High, and (then) McCullough High School, graduating in 1992. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in History and Political Science and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Scott is currently a PhD student at Our Lady of the Lake University where he is researching the relationship between school board leadership style and teacher commitment.
Scott is an ordained pastor in The United Methodist Church, having served churches in Palestine, TX and Conroe. He also served as the Executive Director of the Texas Annual Conference UMC Mission Center in Conroe, a facility that supports the disaster relief efforts of The United Methodist Church and trains and equips missional leaders for local congregations. Mr. Moore now serves as a church consultant, working with churches of all denominations as they seek to strengthen their ministries.
Prior to entering the ministry, Scott was a law enforcement officer for 11 years, serving six of those years with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office.
Scott’s wife, Jeannie, is a Campus Literacy Coach at BB Rice Elementary. They have three sons, J.T., (a 2018 graduate of Conroe High School), Micah, and Trace (both students in CISD schools).
Mr. Moore was elected to the Conroe ISD Board in November 2016, and his term expires in 2020.
