Special Education

TEA Parent Surveys are out!  We would love your feedback!

The Special Education Department provides resources to campuses to support meaningful learning opportunities for eligible students with disabilities in accordance with state, federal, and local policies to ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve the District goal of graduating with confidence and competence.

To receive special education services, students from age 3 through 21, must meet eligibility requirements as a student with auditory impairment, autism, deaf-blindness, emotional disturbance, intellectual disability, non-categorical early-childhood, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury or visual impairment and as a result, require specially designed instruction to benefit educationally.

Meeting the Needs of Our Students

Special education is an integral part of the total instructional program of the district. Conroe ISD provides a full continuum of services to meet the needs of eligible students that allows access to general education instruction with non-disabled peers to the maximum extent appropriate for each student.

To learn more about the referral process or discuss concerns, we encourage you to contact your child’s home campus or the Special Education Department at 936-709-7813.
