What is Title I Funding?

Hand TreeThe purpose of Title 1 funding is to provide additional resources to ensure that all children are provided a high quality education that will enable all children to exceed performance standards.

What is Conroe ISD’s Commitment to Parents?
Conroe ISD will work jointly with parents and community to maximize learning for all students through collaborative partnerships and unity of purpose.

How is Family Engagement Funded on your Title 1 Campus?
Conroe ISD is required to set aside at least 1% of the total Title 1 allocation for the purposes of family engagement. These funds are divided among the Title 1 campuses and spent on campus specific family engagement activities which further the district goals.

How will Conroe ISD Commit to Communicate with Parents?
Communication with parents will include regular and ongoing communication involving student academic learning and other school activities. There will be notices and activity packets sent home with students, phone calls, emails, school website information, and conferences, as needed. Teachers and staff will be encouraged to communicate positive information to parents, to be available to parents, and to respond to parent requests in a timely manner. Parents will be encouraged to take the initiative by calling their child’s teacher when they are concerned about a problem. Parents may also call the school office and ask for an interpreter for conferences. Parent notices in English and Spanish will be sent home when necessary.

How will Conroe ISD Support Family Engagement on Your Campus?

1. Conroe ISD will, with the assistance of all Title 1 schools, provide assistance to parents of children served by Title 1, as appropriate, in understanding the following:

  • the State’s academic content standards.
  • the State’s students academic achievement standards.
  • the state and local academic assessments including alternate assessments.
  • the requirements of Title 1.
  • how to monitor your child’s progress.
  • how to work with teachers and school staff.

2. Conroe ISD will use the following activities to assist parents in the understanding of the above topics:

Federal Programs & Grants

Title I Part A

(Qualifying schools)
This funding provides supplemental resources to help schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families provide a high quality education that will enable all children to meet or exceed the state’s student performance standards.

Title I Part C

This funding provides supplemental resources to support programs that help migrant students overcome the challenges of mobility, cultural and language barriers, and other difficulties associated with a migratory lifestyle.

Title I Part D

(Qualifying schools)
This funding provides supplemental resources designed to improve the educational service to children in facilities for delinquent so that these students will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet or exceed the state’s student performance standards.

Title II Part A

This funding provides supplemental resources to improve student achievement through elevating teacher and principal quality through recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies and to increase the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified administrators in schools.

Title III EL and IMM

This funding provides supplemental resources to schools to ensure that students who are Limited English Proficient attain English proficiency at high levels and/or students who are new immigrants (IMM) to the country have the needed support in core academic subjects to meet or exceed state mandated achievement performance standards.

Title IV

This funding provides supplemental resources to support well rounded educational activities, promote safe and healthy students and provide effective use of technology in the classroom.
