Conroe Stars Compete at Special Olympics Texas Summer Games
The Conroe Stars traveled to San Antonio to compete in track and field events at the Special Olympics Texas Summer Games.
Cadie Darnell and Rafael Ramos from the Academy of Science and Technology, each finished first in the 100 meters.
Caney Creek’s Nicholas Breeden and David Mills each placed first in the javelin. Victor Lopez and Haley Tangume each placed first in the 100 meters, and Eddi Marin placed first in the mile. Also competing for CCHS were McKenzie Smothermon, Natalie Mills, Nicolas Wilson, and Jason Navarro.
Conroe High’s Angel Quintana placed first in the javelin and also competed in the 100 meters. Washington High’s Raul Figueroa placed first in the 100-meters and first in the javelin.
Grand Oaks’ George Champion placed first in the javelin and Kailee Chatman placed first in the softball toss. Tyrin Ouzenne and Bianca Perez also competed in the 100 meters
Oak Ridge’s Jason Sodders placed first in both the 50-meter wheelchair track even and the 100-meter wheelchair track event. Jude Shepherd, Zainab “Yosala” Shonubi, Jordan Barlow, and Kayla Lytton also competed Oak Ridge.
The Woodlands’ Reese Adams placed first in the softball toss field event, while Jordan Sallick placed first in the javelin. Taylor Sallick placed and Abigail Walker also competed for The Woodlands.
