Conroe ISD Trustees Approve 19-20 School Calendar
At their meeting Tuesday night, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees adopted the 2019-2020 School Calendar as recommended by the CISD District-Level Planning and Decision-Making Committee (DLPDMC).
The 19-20 calendar reflects 177 days of instruction and a minimum of 75,600 instructional minutes for students and 187 working days for teachers.
Additional highlights include:

- Labor Day: September 2
- Holiday: October 14
- Veterans Day: November 11
- Thanksgiving Break: November 25-29
- Winter Break: December 20-January 7
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: January 20
- Presidents’ Day: February 17
- Spring Break: March 9-13
- Holiday: April 10
- Memorial Day: May 25
- Last Day for Students: May 28, 2020
Two 2019-2020 Draft Calendars were posted on the CISD website and provided to campuses to share with their staff and community. During this time, over 2,100 comments were submitted through the District’s website. The DLPDMC reviewed the comments and suggestions received from staff, parents, and community and recommended Calendar Draft 2 with a March 9-13 Spring Break as the 2019-2020 School Calendar. The earlier spring break selection was influenced by the academic calendars of Lone Star College, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M and several nearby school districts.
In his presentation to the Board of Trustees, Dr. Chris Hines noted that features the DLPDMC discussed and would likely consider in developing the 2020-2012 School Calendar include making the November election day a staff development day and ending the school year before Memorial Day.
