Over 90 young women, all juniors and seniors from six of Conroe ISD’s high schools, participated in a day-long Energize STEM Symposium at Caney Creek High School on Thursday, November 8.

The ExxonMobil Women’s Interest Network hosted the event for the students who were selected based on their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and their participation in Engineering & Design, Architecture Design, AP Physics, and or AP Computer Science/Robotics activities.

During the day, the students listened to two dynamic speakers and participated in a variety of activities which include learning about robotics and VR/AR, engineering their way out of a STEM Escape Room and discovering technologies used to shape the future of energy. The students also had the opportunity to meet in small groups with female engineers to learn more about their background and careers and understand what being a STEM professional really means.

The ExxonMobil Women’s Interest Network is dedicated to advancing women in STEM careers through mentoring, scholarships, and education outreach programs. For more information, please visit http://corporate.exxonmobil.com/.
