Campus Updates: September 18 – September 24

Broadway Elementary
Welcome back to school!  Broadway has already had Meet the Teacher, Parent Information Nights, and many other activities welcoming our students back.

We are kicking off “Read for a Better Life” on Wednesday, September 21.  We will have guest readers throughout the building that day.

On September 23, we will hold our Student Council Officer elections for fourth grade.  Students will present speeches that they have prepared to their fourth grade peers.  Then the students will vote on a President, Vice President, and Secretary.  Then on Tuesday, September 27, our third and fourth grade homerooms will choose three representatives from each homeroom to represent their grade level on Student Council.

Also on September 27, our school will have their first Spirit Night of the year at Spring Creek Barbecue.

The following students have received a Principal High Five award: Anthony Ortiz, Aaron Torres, Elan Bolton, Eriq Carranza, Keilan Gause, Danielle Roland,  Freya Wilcock, Trinity Disney, Ella Maddox, Lacie Miller, Kennedy Umholtz, Henri Hope, Addison Robertson, Hunter Bruschke, Audrey Martin, Lucas Blakley, Evan Obabkov, Evelyn Icasuriaga, Gabriella Buhl, Preston Blackman, Alyssa Dobias, Sarah Miertschin, Blake Singletary, Alana Goebel, Ryan Mena, Malik Franklin, Caleb Call, Isaac Willis, Brett Bodensteiner, Sydney Flinn, Tom Webster, Brianna Downey and Eva Philip.

 

Bush Elementary
Students’ Progress Reports will go home on September 20.

On September 21, the school district kicks off Read for a Better Life.

Also on September 21, Chick-fil-A will hold a share night, where a percentage of the ticket will be donated to our parent teacher organization, when a customer says they are there to support our school.

 

Collins Intermediate
Thank you to all of the students, parents and staff that made the Back to School Book Fair such a success.

September 21, Read for a Better Life, take time to read with your student and encourage their lifelong love of reading.

 

Creighton Elementary
Girls on the Run Club meets from 3:30 – 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 20.

 

Ford Elementary
Our campus will kick off Read for a Better Life on Wednesday, September 21, with lots of fun!  Classes will enjoy guest readers and other fun reading activities that day as they get “caught with a good book!” Students and staff will dress as their favorite book character, so this should be a great day!

 

Irons Junior High
Irons is proud to recognize the following “Students of The Week” for their academic or social achievements.

Mrs. Hanley would like to recognize Madelyn Lynch for showing kindness by being considerate of others. Madelyn always makes an effort to ask if there is anything that she can help with and say a kind word at the end of the day. Mrs. Hanley has been so impressed by her caring heart!

The learning team “Black Hawks” would like to recognize Brett Sportell as our extraordinary student of the week.

 

Moorhead Junior High
The Student Success Center opens on Monday, September 18 at the Moorhead Junior High library. Students can stay after school Monday through Thursday to work on homework, study for tests, finish projects, or get tutoring on any core subject.

 

Tough Elementary
Thursday, October 15 author Eric Litwin will be visiting our campus.  Mr. Litwin was the original author of the Pete the Cat series and is now introducing his new series Groovy Joe.  Kindergarten and first grade students with get to meet Mr. Litwin and enjoy some of his books.
