Birnham Woods Elementary
Second grade will be celebrating their students “boo”tiful writing on Monday, October 31.

 
Buckalew Elementary
Kindergarten Five Senses Day is October 31 and second grade classes celebrate fall with a Harvest Treat Day on the same day.

With a pirate theme our Bookaneer Book Fair sales begin Monday, October 31- Thursday, November 3. Come where books are the treasure.

Vendor Day is Friday, November 4 for parents and staff. Do your holiday shopping early!

Best attendance classes for September are: Mrs. Bernu, Mrs. Gann, Mrs. Segel, Mrs. Eagleton and Mrs. Points. Each class received an Always There Bear to remind us that attending school is very important.

Keys To Success winners the week of October 17 are: Wyatt Retberg (k) Working well with others, Trevor Nguyen (1) Synergizing, Ryan Borths (2) Puts first things first and always puts in 100% effort, Will Laurence (3) Putting first things first and showing great pride and dedication in his project, and Nina Gonzalez (4) thinks win-win and a great friend to classmates. The children were presented a “Principal’s Medallion” for their efforts.

 
Bush Elementary
On October 31 the Boosterthon Fun Run will take place: kindergarten will run at 8:30 a.m.; first and second grades will run at 9:45 a.m.; and third and fourth grades will run at 11 a.m.

On November 4, the children will be able to preview our Fall Book Fair, which opens the next week.

Creighton Elementary
Wednesday, November 4, students will take group pictures and individual re-take pictures.

Now that your children are fully involved in school it is a great time to discuss setting goals. Goal setting allows your child to Begin with the End in Mind. That means in order to know what we want to happen we have to set a goal to get there. A great goal to work on is reading for a longer time. What a great way for students to learn independence and internal respect.

Galatas Elementary
Family and friends are invited to attend the third grade musical program on Thursday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Giesinger Elementary
Our campus Art Department fund raiser continues this week. Your student’s artwork makes a one of a kind keepsake, perfect for you to enjoy and give as gifts. All proceeds go toward our amazing school art program to help purchase supplies. Send your orders to school to be turned in to our art teachers, Mrs. Schmitt and Mrs. Matthews.

PTO is sponsoring “Thankful Chains” November 1 – 17. Students are invited to purchase a paper chain link to write down something he or she is thankful for. The paper chain links will be connected to create a school Thankful Chain that will decorate our hallways.

Third graders will be performing their musical program, “It’s Saturday”, on Thursday, November 3 at 7 p.m.

Kaufman Elementary
Monday, October 31, Kaufman will be bustling with fall activities. The day will begin with a second grade scarecrow parade at 8 a.m. followed by fall activities for first grade at 8 a.m., second, third and fourth grade at 9 a.m. and the Kindergarten students will be celebrating the Fiftieth Day of school.

The library will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair beginning on Monday, October 31 and ending on Friday, November 4. Students will be allowed to shop throughout the week. There will be two special family events, the first on Tuesday, November 1 and the second on Thursday, November 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. All students visiting a family event night will get a chance to win free books from the book fair.

Thursday, November 3, will be Kaufman’s Academic Night. Students in grades first through fourth will enjoy a night of engaging learning activities and fun with their family and teachers.

Friday, November 4, students will have picture retakes and group pictures. Also, on this day, the Spirit Store will be open at 10 a.m.

 
Mitchell Intermediate
On Tuesday, November 1, LC 7 will take a field trip to Spring Creek Nature Centers sponsored by our Parent Teacher Organization.
School picture retakes will be done on Tuesday, November 1.
Fifth grade students will take the Math Benchmark on Wednesday, November 2.
Chamber Orchestra will perform at the Texas Renaissance Festival on Wednesday, November 2.
Sixth grade students will take the Writing Benchmark on Thursday, November 3.
On Thursday, November 3, LC 8 will take a field trip to Spring Creek Nature Centers sponsored by our Parent Teacher Organization.

Powell Elementary
Kindergarten will celebrate the 50th day of school October 31 with a Sock Hop.

Fourth grade students will take a writing benchmark November 3.

The Parent Teacher Organization will have a Spirit Store November 4. The will also treat all students to a popcorn treat after lunch.

Rice Elementary
The Conroe Fire Department will visit with our students on October 31.

Kona Ice will be at Rice on Wednesday, November 9.

Friday, November 11 Rice will host a Family Game Night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The week of Monday, November 14 Rice will recognize Generation Texas Week.

Tuesday, November 15 class pictures will be taken.

Junior Achievement will make presentations in our second grade classrooms on Wednesday, November 16.

Rice third and fourth graders will be going on field trips on Thursday, November 17.

Career day will be held on Friday, November 18.

Friday, November 18 our Pre K students will have their annual Pow Wow.

Students will be off the week on November 21 for Thanksgiving.

Friday, December 2 Rice Way Pep Rallies will be held.

 
Washington Junior High
Congratulations to trombonist, Jose Meza, on making the CISD Honor Band.

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country Teams for winning the disrict meet. Cristian Anastacio won the eighth grade title setting a new school record. Helio Hernandez placed third. Eric Martinez placed fourth. Bernando Fernandez placed 5th. Rafael Ramirez placed sixth. Ulises Quintanilla placed seventh, and Abraham Garcia placed eighth. Janeisy Alvarez placed tenth in the Girls Division.
