Bozman Intermediate
Bozman Community would like to recognize and congratulate again their Teacher of the Year: Miss Kimberly Pullen and Humanitarian of the Year: Mr. Larry Bradfute.

We are so proud of our Bozman students who participated in Destination Imagination this February.  One of our teams made it to State Competition in Anna, Texas in April and qualified for Globals Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 25-28.  Bozman Community wishes to recognize DI Team BIOLUMINESCENCE for a great performance and demonstrating much creativity and strong teamwork. We send off Jax Stoehr, Genesis Gomez, Francisco Espinoza, Alec Smith, Davin Brown and team Manager Shayne Horan and assistant Hannah Vaughn to Global Competition with well wishes and much success.

Broadway Elementary
Our Third and Fourth grade students are preparing to take the STAAR test on May 9 and 10.

Then on May 13 is our annual Career Day here at Broadway.  Many of our parents will be coming in to share about their careers and their career path with our students.

Bush Elementary
At Bush Elementary, we are celebrating National Physical Education and Sport Week, May 1 – 7.

The Barbara Bush Parent Teacher Organization will hold its general meeting at 1 p.m. on May 5.

As with all CISD elementary campuses, because of STAAR testing, Barbara Bush Elementary will be a closed campus the week of May 9. Math STAAR will take place on Monday, May 9 and Reading STAAR will take place May 10.

Collins Intermediate

Friday, May 6 is Nurse’s Day. Thank you Nurse Patin for all you do.

Congratulations to fifth grader Alejandro Cueto whose art titled, “Seen Better Days”, received the Juror’s Selection award at the Pearl Fincher Art Show.

Congratulations to Collins 6th Grade Orchestra students who performed at the CISD sixth grade solo and ensemble contest this past Saturday. These student received a Superior rating of 1 and received a medal for their solos. Students earned additional medals for receiving a superior rating on their performance in an ensemble. Creighton Elementary
The week of May 2 is Teacher Appreciation week. Teachers give us so much, they are real life superheroes. They are a welcoming presence in our life. Teachers educate, encourage, and support our students. Every day they touch the lives of millions of children. Let’s take a moment this week to share our appreciation for the educators in our lives.

On May 4 we will honor our wonderful nurse, Patricia Harper, and our clinic aide, Josephina Esquivel, in celebration of National Nurses Day. Our nurse plays an important role in our school success. Thank you Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Esquivel for all you do for us.

Wednesday, May 4, third and fourth grade students will have a STAAR Pep Rally. Students are motivated and inspired to do their best by retired Harlem Globetrotter players. Educated athletes uplift students with an amazing performance and a positive message.

Our Parent Volunteer Group will host a staff appreciation luncheon on Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m. in the library.

Cryar Intermediate
Congratulations to Kaylynn Carabajal, Chelsea Hunt, Detavious Robinson, Julie Brewer, Damian Helms and Christopher Stracener for each receiving a reward from the Purrr-fect Attendance Incentive Program.

Buy one, get one free book fair in the Cryar library on Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 6. The book fair is cash only and ends at noon on Friday.

STAAR testing on Monday, May 9 through Wednesday, May 10. No deliveries will be made to students on these dates.

David Elementary
On Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m., David Elementary will have a Kindergarten Information Night for all incoming kindergarten students and their parents. This meeting will provide information needed to prepare your child for kindergarten, as well as give you an opportunity to ask questions and take a tour of the school.

Ford Elementary
The Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held May 16 – 20.  We will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  On Friday, we will be open late until 8 p.m.  This will be a great chance to stock up on some summer reads for your child and yourself.   We hope you can join us.

Family Fun Day will be May 20 from 5 – 8 p.m. on May 20.  Come and join the fun!

Giesinger Elementary

Third and fourth graders will be taking the STAAR Math Test on Monday, May 9, and on Tuesday, May 10, will take the STAAR Reading Test.  We will be observing a quiet campus these days and ask that parents in other grades not eat lunch with students.  Thank you for helping our students do their best!

Glen Loch Elementary
The Math STAAR Test for third and fourth graders will be given on Monday May 9.

The Reading STAAR Test for third and fourth graders will be given on Tuesday May 10.

Hailey Elementary
Thank you Hailey community for donations of time, clothing, household items, and gift cards to our families who were affected by the recent flood. Our Hailey family has pulled together to help our community, and the families who have received support have expressed heartfelt appreciation.

The Parent Teacher Association will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in the school library.

Friday, May 7, the School Store will be open on the cafeteria stage during all lunch periods.

On Monday and Tuesday, May 9-10, Hailey will not permit visitors on campus for grades PK-4 due to STAAR testing. We ask that you not plan on having lunch with your child at any grade level or schedule a conference on either day. This is to allow for the optimal testing environment for all students to be successful. Please know that if you need to come into the Main Office area, we welcome you. Thank you for your support during this testing period. We continue our goal to have perfect attendance everyday as well as on our testing days.

Congratulations to Mrs. Middleton’s and Ms. Gregory’s classes for achieving their 10 Sailboat Awards this week. Attendance every day and all day helps students learn better.

Students can bring aluminum cans, foil, pans, and aluminum computer parts for recycling every Friday morning for our Cash for Cans program, which also helps support our school. Please deliver recyclables to the front porch when arriving at school.

Irons Junior High
Irons is proud to recognize the following “Students of The Week” for their academic or social achievements. The learning team 7-1 “RED HOT” would like to recognize Aliyah Castillo. Aliyah always works hard and tries her best. The learning team 7-2 “DREAM TEAM” would like to recognize Cadence Gerhard for always doing her best work and for her wonderful attitude. The learning team 8-2 “SHAKE N’ BAKE” would like to recognize Gabe Hercules because works really well with other students and he’s done a great job this semester improving and caring more about his grades.

The votes are in! Last Thursday, the Geometry, Algebra and grade grade PreAP Math students had their Math Fair projects on display in the gym. There were 4 different categories: Biography, Careers, Advanced Math Topic, and Math Game. After numerous teachers and students viewing the projects and judging them, we have our People’s Choice Winners and Iron Hawk Winners.

Congratulations to: Biography winners: Alexas McGinnis and Gizel Valdez from Mrs Hanley’s math class. Career winners: Brittney Hoang from Mr Scurto’s and Jeffrey Shumway from Mrs Horrell’s class. Advanced Math Topic winners: Avriana Lisembee from Mrs. Hanley’s and Sara Meyer from M.rs Horrell’s class. Math Game Board: Chasity Conrad from Mrs Horrell’s class won both the People’s Choice and Iron Hawk Award. All of the Math trifolds look great! A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Horrell for organizing the Math Fair and making it another success here at Irons Junior High.

Kaufman Elementary
Thursday, May 4, fourth grade will participate in Cinco de Mayo activities throughout the day and Kindergarten will also celebrate at 2 p.m.

Friday, May 5 is Nurse’s Day.  Kaufman would like to acknowledge and show our appreciation to our wonderful nurse, Karen Maidens and her lovely clinic aide, Sharlynn Stewart, for all they do every day.

Also, on this day, at 1:20 p.m. third and fourth grade will participate in a STAAR pep rally getting them pumped up for the following weeks STAAR testing.  We are so proud of how hard they work each and every day. The third grade GT Envision EXPO will also take place on this day at 2 p.m.

The building will be closed to visitors on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13 due to STAAR testing.

Third and fourth graders will be taking the STAAR Math test on Monday, May 9 and the STAAR Reading test on Tuesday, May 10.

Lamar Elementary
Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 4.

The third and fourth graders will be having STAAR Math on May 9 and STAAR Reading on May 10.

McCullough Junior High
Our final round of STAAR testing for this year is May 9 – May 12. Students need to bring a jacket, a sack lunch, a bottle of water, and a book to read after finishing. Cell phones are not permitted and, if caught with one, students will receive an automatic referral and their scores may not be counted. Study hard and be prepared! Good luck!

Please remember to pick up any medications your student has in the clinic by Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m. After that time all medication left in the clinic will be disposed of. If you have special circumstances, please contact the clinic and speak to Nurse Stewart.

Mitchell Intermediate
LCs 1, 2 and 3will present their Envision Expo projects on Wednesday, May 4 at 8 a.m. in the Mitchell Library.

LCs 4, 5 and 6 will present their Envision Expo projects on Friday, May 6 at 8 a.m. in the Mitchell Library.

Sixth grade students will take the Math STAAR Test on Monday, May 9.

The fifth grade Math STAAR Retest will be taken on Monday, March 9.

Sixth grade students will take the Reading STAAR Test on Tuesday, May 10.

The fifth grade Reading STAAR Retest will be taken on Tuesday, May 10.

The Scholastic “Buy One, Get One Free” book fair will be held the week of May 16-20. Hours for the fair will be 8:30-4:30 daily. This is a great time to get loaded up on reading material for the summer!

Reaves Elementary
Congratulations to the Reaves Honor Award winners for April. They were recognized for best citizenship with a lunch for winners and parents on our stage Thursday sponsored by Canes in Conroe.

Third and fourth grade students are ready for the STAAR test May 9 and 10.

Please join us for our first grade program on the stage Thursday May 12 at 6 p.m.

Fourth grade will participate in the Future Tiger Challenge at Conroe High School on Friday May 13.

Rice Elementary
Rice second, third and fourth grade students who have met their reading goals will have their reading incentive celebration on Monday, May 11.

Rice Way Lunch celebrations will be held on Tuesday, May 17.

Our fourth grade students will participate in the Tiger Challenge on Friday, May 20.

Stewart Elementary
Talent show is Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in Stewart Elementary Cafeteria.

Fifth and sixth Grade Dance is Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m.

Fifth grade Soccer Challenge held at Moorhead Stadium is Friday, May 13.

Sixth grade physicals for Peet Junior High will be Tuesday, May 17.  Permission forms and payment must be completed in order to attend.

Future Tiger Challenge is Friday, May 20 at Conroe High School.

Awards Day for first through fourth grades will be held on Tuesday, May 24.

Sixth grade Soccer Challenge held at Moorhead Stadium is Friday, May 21.

Fine Arts Spring Concert is Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. in Stewart Elementary Cafeteria.

Wilkerson Intermediate
May 2-6 is the last week for before and after school tutorials.

May 2-6 is Teacher Appreciation Week.

Monday, May 9 is the sixth grade STAAR math test and the fifth grade STAAR math retake test.

Tuesday, May 10 is the fifth grade STAAR reading test and the sixth grade STAAR reading retake test.
