Broadway Elementary
The following students received a Principal High Five: Sebastian Araoz, Trey Boatman, Braylen Mullins, Aydin Hrad, Alexander Jones, Berkley Norman, Gia D’ Souza, Caleb Green, DJ, Morgan, and Zak Fedak.

 
Buckalew Elementary
Each week students have the opportunity to be nominated as a “Student of the Week” when they demonstrate any of the 7 Keys to Success we teach at our school. Students nominated receive a special certificate to take home. They are then entered into a weekly drawing. The winners are on the announcements and are presented a “Principal’s Medallion”. One student per grade level is drawn weekly. Congratulations to the following students: Garrett Peterson who works well with others, Luke Vadala who works hard to always do his best, Yariela Brown who is always happy and ready to work, Elijah Sannithomas who sees what needs to be done and does it, and Scarlett Angell who works hard each and every day.

 

On Monday, April 24 the entire fourth grade class will visit Mitchell Intermediate for Student Orientation. This is a wonderful event where the fourth graders can learn all about 5th grade at the intermediate level.

 
Bush Elementary
Progress Reports will go home on Tuesday, April 25.

 

Bush Elementary third and fourth grade choir will hold their Spring Concert on Thursday, April 27.

 

Collins Intermediate
Congratulations to all the band participants in the sixth grade Solo & Ensemble Contest at Wilkerson Intermediate School on Saturday, April 8. Creighton Elementary
Wednesday, April 26, Progress Reports will be sent home.

 

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Building this habit in elementary school helps students learn that going to school every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work. When students improve their attendance rate, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.

 
Galatas Elementary
The book fair will be held April 23 – 27.

 
Giesinger Elementary
Our students participated in raising money for the American Cancer Society Relay Recess, and raised $5,105.00 with online donations. The top five fund-raisers will be recognized at the Relay for Life of Conroe on April 28. Those students are: Olivia Slater, Madeline Proctor, Kennedy Matthews, Logan Unterfenger, and Abigail Thomas. The top grade level raising donations was first grade, and that grade level will get a Popsicle party. Job well done!

 

Our character trait for March was “Courage”. Irons Junior High
Irons Junior High is proud to recognize the following “Students of The Week” for their academic or social achievements.

 

Mr. Mantooth would like to nominate Baylor Holloway for working diligently to complete all assignments with excellence.

 

Mrs. Mlcak would like to recognize her top three typists from her Computer Science class. Last week, students took their third typing test. The first place typist was Steven Drabbant for typing 79 WPM with 91% accuracy, second place was Brayden Bianca for typing 65 wpm with 96% accuracy, and third place was Kevin Becerra for typing 46 wpm with 96% accuracy.

 

Also, Congratulations to Mrs. Mlcak’s seventh period class for winning the Typing Contest with a class average of 27 Words Per Minute.

 

Congratulations to the 2016 – 2017 seventh grade Duke Talent Search participants! The following students took the Duke Tip test and qualified for state recognition: Isabella Campos, Emma Hamilton, Mallery Minor, Renee Schoellman, Peyton Tabor, Sydney Tabor, and Preslee Young. Congratulations to all of our students that took the Duke Tip test. We are so proud of you!

 

Kaufman Elementary
Second grade will host a Reading Restaurant on Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27. Parents are invited to listen to their students’ wonderful writing.

 

Friday, April 28, kindergarten will have an end of the year program at 8:30 a.m. Third grade will go on a field trip to Minute Maid Park leaving the campus at 9 a.m. Also on this day second grade will open their Flower Pen factory, raising money for charity.

 
Oak Ridge High School
Oak Ridge High School Chamber, Symphony, and Sinfonietta orchestras performed at UIL Concert & Sight-reading Contest this week. All three ensembles received a first division superior rating in both concert and sight-reading to earn a Sweepstakes Award. Congratulations and way to go, orchestra!
Congratulations to our ORHS relay team who ran the fastest time in the nation and placed first at the Texas Relays on April 1 and 2. Team members are: Joe Austin, Zavier Johnson, Nathaniel McRae, and Grant Stuard.

 

Also, congratulations to Zach Johnson who took 2nd place in the Triple Jump that same weekend.

 
Reaves Elementary

Rice Elementary
Our annual STAAR Pep Rally will be held on Friday, May 5 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.

 

Friday, May 12 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. the PTO will sponsor a school dance.

 
Travis Intermediate

Everyone is invited to the Travis Parent Teacher Organization Garage and Bake Sale on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. We hope to see you there!

 

Mark your calendar for the Travis Family Dance on Thursday, April 27 5:30-7 p.m. Information will be sent home with students for this special evening.

 

Kona Ice will be coming on Friday, April 28 from 1-3 p.m.
