Broadway Elementary

Buckalew Elementary
Come join us at the Happy Camper Book Fair. The book fair preview is April 3-5 with a Family Sales Event on April 6 from 3:15-5:45 p.m. Then April 10-April 13 the Book Fair is open to parents, friends, and family from 7:30-8 a.m. and 11:15-1 p.m. S’more fun with books!

 

Look for Book Fair Bunny Baskets this year. Give the Bunny a little extra help. Order a customized basket filled with the best new titles and fun trinkets the Book Fair has to offer! We’ll take care of all the details. Be on the lookout for an order form emailed by your room mom.

 

The winning classes for the Always There Bear awards are: Mrs. Bernu, Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Dillow, Mrs. Canlas and Mrs. Lunsford. The classes mentioned from each grade had the best attendance for the month of February.

 

Congratulations to the “Principal’s Medallion” winners for the week of March 20. Jaycee Gamble put first things first, Suleiman Nasir also put first things first, Molly Brown was proactive as she worked hard and used her creativity in class, Chase Tetlow, always seeks to understand and gives 100% and Taryn Farnsworth was proactive and works hard with dedication.

 
Bush Elementary
Kindergarten/pre-kindergarten Round-Up will be the week of April 3 – 7. Please visit https://www.conroeisd.net/parents/enrollment-information/ for more information. New student late night registration will be held on April 6, from 4-6 p.m.

 

Also on April 6, incoming Kindergarten parents are invited to an information night, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

On April 6, current Kindergarteners will perform their program at 2:20 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

Collins Intermediate
Come shop the Collins Book Fair the week of April 2 through April 7, everyone is invited to shop some great deals and pick up some great new books for spring.

 

Creighton Elementary
The week of April 3-7 is kindergarten and Pre-K Roundup from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 
Friday, April 7, kindergarten students will visit Seven Acre Woods. Students will visit the petting zoo, western play town, and have a picnic lunch.

 

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Building this habit in elementary school helps students learn that going to school every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work. When students improve their attendance rate, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.

 

David Elementary
The David Elementary Science “Egg-Stravaganza” and Spring Book Fair Family Night will be held on Thursday evening, April 6. Students will design protection to prevent their eggs from cracking when dropped from a height greater than ten meters. Mr. Allen, school principal, will test the egg projects by launching them from the roof of David Elementary! During this time, families are also able to shop at the Spring Book Fair to support the school.

 

Giesinger Elementary
Our character trait for February was “kindness”. The following students were given the Kindness Award: Curtis Park, Michael Bentley, Trinity Sorellis, J.T. Burch, Kaleb Jacobs, Max O’Hagan, Craig Prentice, Kingston Elam, Ria Patel, Aydan Rodriguez, Trey Ferguson, Michael Cannon, Annabelle Earthman, Sam Jones, Luke Whelan, Caden Means, Savannah Luft, Jamesyn Sandford, Emma Morrow, Austin Hart, Brady Wilds, Kane Moore, Payton Hernandez, Keaton Campbell, Mason Cummings, J.J. Mack, and Dylan Smith. We are proud of these students!

 

2017-2018 Pre-Kindergarten and kindergarten registration is open the week of April 3-7. Kindergarten registration is for children who are 5 years old on or before September 1, 2017. Pre-Kindergarten registration is for children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, 2017. Additional requirements must be met for Pre-K. Registration will be in our front office.

 

Hailey Elementary
Afternoon tutoring resumes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning April 4 through May 4. This program is offered to students by invitation only.

 

First graders will sing for the residents at The Forum April 5 and 6. Please watch Wednesday folders and teacher newsletters for more information and permission slips.

 

Thursday, April 6, is Parent Night at Wilkerson Intermediate School for parents of current fourth grade students. This evening will be very informative for families as they prepare to transition to Wilkerson for fifth and sixth grades.

 

The annual Spring Carnival is Friday, April 7. Please watch Wednesday folders and weekly updates for more information, volunteer opportunities and many ways to help. Please bring the entire family to enjoy a night of fun graciously brought to us by the Parent Teacher Association.

 

Please join us for a Parenting with Love and Logic Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26. The meetings will be at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the school library. Participants are invited to bring their lunch. Parenting with Love and Logic is a common sense, nationally recognized approach to parenting that provides easy-to-learn skills to instill responsibility, respect, and good decision-making in children. We are excited to offer this class to our parents! If you have any questions or would like to register, please contact Mrs. Florian, Hailey Counselor, at mflorian@conroeisd.net. Unfortunately, child care for young children cannot be provided for this class.

 

Students can bring aluminum cans, foil, pans, and aluminum computer parts for recycling every Friday morning for our Cash for Cans program, which helps support our school. Please deliver recyclables to the front porch when arriving at school.

 

Houser Elementary
Kindergarten and Pre-K Round Up is April 3-7!

 

Book Fair is coming April 5-13.Come shop and “Camp Out” with a good book!

 

Picture Day is April 6! We will have spring pictures for all students, graduation pictures for Kindergarten, and Honor Choir pictures as well.

 

The first grade music program is Thursday evening, April 6 at 6 p.m. The Book Fair will also be open that night for families to shop!

 

Our DI Team is heading to the State Competition on April 8! Good luck to all students and teachers, we know you will do great!

 
Kaufman Elementary
The first grade music program will take place on Thursday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. for friends and family with a second performance taking place on Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m.

 

The Spring Carnival will take place on Friday, April 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., everyone is welcome to come out for fun games and food.

 

Mitchell Intermediate
Spring Pictures will be taken at Mitchell on Tuesday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 5.

 

Fifth Grade students will take the Science Benchmark on Thursday, April 6.

 

Sixth grade Band and Orchestra Solo and Ensemble will take place on Saturday, April 8 beginning at 8 a.m. at Wilkerson Intermediate.

 

Please join the Mitchell staff at the annual Mitchell Volunteer Brunch on Tuesday, April 18 starting at 9 a.m. We would like to take this opportunity to thank so many parents for their time, support and dedication to helping make Mitchell Intermediate so wonderful.

 

The third annual “Mitchell Faculty Follies” is scheduled for Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. Several staff members and Mitchell students will entertain you for a good cause. Proceeds will benefit the HOPE foundation established to help find a cure for Batten’s Disease which our own Will Herndon has been battling for several years. Please help support this cause and mark the date on your calendar.

 

Powell Elementary
Kindergarten Round-Up and Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is April 3 – April 7.

 

Third graders will take a Math Benchmark on April 4.

 

Fourth graders will take the Math Benchmark on April 5.

 

The Parent Teacher Organization will host a Spirit Store on April 7 at 7:30 a.m.

 

Rice Elementary
Tuesday, April 4 kindergarten students will take their graduation pictures.

 

Specials Night will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 5:30 until 7 p.m.

 

Rice will host a Bingo Night on Friday, April 21 from 5:30 until 8 p.m.

 

Stewart Elementary
Kindergarten graduation pictures will be taken on Wednesday, April 5.

 

Parents and family are invited to attend the first grade musical on Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m. Students will perform a dress rehearsal on Thursday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. Pre-register for this event by contacting the front office.

 

Tough Elementary
Thursday, April 5 at 6 p.m., counselor David Parmer MA, LPC, will be at Coulson Tough to present Resiliency and Your Child. Mr. Parmer worked in CISD for many years and is now in private practice. His presentations are informative and enlightening.

 

The Coulson Tough Spotlight on Kindness Ceremony took place on Friday, February 24.
