At their March meeting, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees named the new Assistant Superintendent for High Schools.

The Trustees approved current Grand Oaks High School Principal Dr. Christopher Povich to be the new Assistant Superintendent for High Schools. He will be assuming the role currently held by Gregg Colschen who will be retiring in June of 2022 after serving for 44 years in education with 20 of those years in Conroe ISD. Dr. Povich has served in Conroe ISD for over 25 years in various positions including as a mathematics teacher, associate and assistant principal of The Woodlands High School, principal of The Woodlands High School 9th Grade Campus, and principal of York Junior High prior to his current position.

In his remarks to the Board, Dr. Povich said, “I don’t take this responsibility lightly, and I will do my very best to help our district, support all of our communities, and push us to the next level. I would like to personally thank Dr. Null for all of his support over the years and another mentor, who was my direct supervisor, Mr. Gregg Colschen, who kept me in line and gave me a lot of good advice. I look forward to working with and supporting you all.”
