ASBO Awards Conroe ISD for Excellence in Budget Presentation
The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is proud to recognize Conroe Independent School District for excellence in budget presentation with the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for the 2021-2022 budget year.
ASBO International’s MBA promotes and recognizes best budget presentation practices in school districts. Participants submit their applications and budget documents to a panel of school financial professionals who review the materials for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements and provide expert feedback that districts can use to improve their budget documents.
Conroe ISD has participated in the MBA program for 22 years and is one of a small number of school districts out of the over 1,100 in the State of Texas to be recognized.
“Fiscal transparency, accuracy, and responsibility are hallmarks of Conroe ISD. I am proud that the District is again recognized for its commitment to these values,” remarked Conroe ISD Chief Financial Officer Darrin Rice.
“Districts that apply to the MBA recognize the importance of presenting a high-quality, easy-to-understand budget internally and to the community,” ASBO International Executive Director David J. Lewis explains. “By participating in the programs, not only do districts have access to the tools and resources they need to communicate the district’s goals and objectives clearly, they demonstrate their commitment to upholding nationally recognized budget presentation standards.”
