Substitute Application Process
Thank you for your interest in working as a substitute employee with Conroe ISD.  
 
Please read the following instructions carefully regarding the application process.
 
All part-time substitute employees are subject to fingerprinting in accordance with Senate Bill 9 (SB9), also known as the “Fingerprinting Bill.” After completing the fingerprint requirement, you will attend a processing meeting where we check your eligibility for employment documents (I-9 form), complete hiring paperwork and provide details of the mandatory training session. The processing meetings will begin in mid-July in preparation for the 2010-11 school year.
 
Conroe ISD receives many applications for substitute teaching/aide positions, and there is no guarantee that all applicants will be successful in finding work.


1.      Complete and submit the on-line substitute application and provide an active email address for contact. You must have a current substitute on-line application if you are applying to work as a substitute.
 
2.      Conroe ISD will submit the information through the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Texas Education Agency (TEA) to check your fingerprint status.   
        If the DPS/TEA require you to provide fingerprints, we will email you the information. The fingerprint agency charges approximately $50 for the appointment.
 
       Please wait to receive the fingerprint requirements and instructions to continue the application process as the data is uploaded weekly.
 
You must complete the fingerprint requirements to continue your application for employment.

SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYEE HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
 
Substitute Teacher:  
College transcript (unofficial or official) showing a minimum of 60 earned hours from an accredited school
Texas teaching certificate - required for Texas Certified pay rate
Foreign degree requires a transcript evaluation
 
Substitute Aide:
High School diploma or GED
 
Substitute Nurse:
College transcript (unofficial or official) showing a minimum of 60 earned hours from an accredited school
Texas RN License and CPR card


PAY RATES:
 
Texas Certified Substitute Teacher:
Daily Rate $80  
Long Term Rate $105 (20 or more consecutive days in the same assignment)


Non-Certified (or out-of state certified) Substitute Teacher:
Daily Rate $70
Long Term Rate $95 (20 or more consecutive days in the same assignment)


Substitute Aide:
Daily Rate $55
Long Term Rate $61 (20 or more consecutive days in the same assignment)


Substitute Nurse:
Daily Rate $105
Long Term Rate $105 (20 or more consecutive days in the same assignment)
