Seniors from Conroe ISD high schools were recognized by the Board of Trustees for their commitment to participate in the Students Together Achieving Results (STAR) Program. Participation in the program has contributed to his/her successful completion of high school and involved a lot of hard work and persistence from each student.

High school counselors identified ninth grade students who did not have a successful freshman year and invited them to participate in the program. It is designed to build strong relationships between counselors and underachieving students, while exposing those students to more opportunities to learn about themselves and to plan for their futures. The program has grown from a summer program to a year-around program of monthly meetings with students, as well as visits to community colleges, technical schools and four-year colleges. Students also have visited job sites, done community service, heard motivational speakers, and participated in the ropes course.
