Gregg Colschen, principal of The Woodlands High School, was honored by the CISD Board of Trustees for being selected by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals (TASSP) as the Region VI Outstanding High School Principal of the Year. Mr. Colschen was presented with a plaque at the November meeting to commemorate the distinction.
TASSP recognizes outstanding leaders from the twenty region Education Service Centers in the state. Earning this honor makes him eligible to compete for the 2012 Texas Principal of the Year award.
School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.
Gregg has thirty-one years of service as an educator. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carthage College and a Masters Degree from Northeast Louisiana University. He has been an educational leader for twenty-three years with ten of those in Conroe ISD as the principal of The Woodlands High School.
