Please join the combined Armed Services Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) of the Conroe Independent School District in a Salute to Our Veterans. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, at Moorhead Stadium.
A flyover by a B-25 Mitchell Bomber will be provided by the Lone Star Flight Museum of Galveston. The B-25 was a very versatile medium-duty bomber which flew in both the Pacific and European Theaters during World War II.
Birnham Woods Elementary All Bulldogs will be showing school spirit and good decision making during Red Ribbon Week, the week of October 24-28.
The school Library will have a Storybook Pumpkin Patch during the week of October 24-28. Students are asked to decorate a pumpkin as their favorite storybook character and bring them to school.
October 27, students will be heading over to Double Dave's Pizza for a "Fun-draising" Night.
October 28, the campus will celebrate the students who have shown that they follow the Bulldog G.R.O.W.L. standards: Generate a positive attitude, Respect themselves and their surroundings, Obey the rules set before them, Work towards personal excellence and Live to their potential.
Broadway Elementary School In honor of Red Ribbon Week, students will wear hats, wear clothes inside out, decorate doors, and dress like book characters. The school would like to thank Mrs. Sandra Lewis for taking the lead in this year's Red Ribbon Week activities.
Friday, October 28, will be a busy day on the campus which will start the day with a Storybook Character Parade, a special day when students and staff dress as their favorite storybook character. The day will end with the Mad Science Program.
Tuesday, November 1, is the fiftieth day of school. Kindergarten students will be dressing in clothes from the fifties, and celebrating with a sock hop.
The school will hold a celebration for students who achieved recognition in the first nine weeks. ABBIT Club, All "A" Honor Roll, and the Walk of Fame are activities that will honor these special students.
Buckalew Elementary School Red Ribbon Week is October 24-28. Students will participate in a variety of activities during their Specials class time and can show their support by wearing fun clothes each day that week: Monday, October 24, students are asked to wear read in association with Red Ribbon Week. Tuesday, October 25, students are asked to wear interesting caps and "Put a Cap on Drugs." Wednesday, October 26, students are permitted to wear pajamas and encouraged to "Follow Your Dreams and Don't Do Drugs." Thursday, October 27, students are asked to wear team jerseys, shirts, or buttons as they "Team Up Against Drugs." Friday, October 28, students are encouraged to wear jeans and declare "I'm a 'Jean'-ius, I Am Drug Free."
On October 28, first grade students will enjoy Pumpkin Day while the third graders participate in the Great Pumpkin Caper.
Kindergarten students will have their annual Five Senses Day on October 31.
Bush Elementary School The school would like to congratulate the Humanitarians Award Winners for the month. This award is given to an exceptional student who exhibits extraordinary acts of kindness. The students are recognized by receiving a certificate and a medal. For the month of September the winners were: Aric Mills, fourth grade; Brianna Ochoa, third grade; Samantha Reese, second grade; Chloe Sewell, first grade; and Jakob Handy, Kindergarten.
Collins Intermediate School Congratulations to sixth grade violinist Vishnu Sajit, who made Third Chair, Second Violin in the Philharmonic Orchestra. This is a tremendous accomplishment with the privilege of performing with the All-Region Orchestra in November.

Creighton Elementary School Cubs have pledged to keep their "PAWS" off drugs, in association with Red Ribbon Week.
October 28 is Fall Treat Day from the Parent Teacher Organization. A Story Book Character Parade Day will be held for Pre-Kindergarten through second grade. Also, the Great Pumpkin Contest will be held for third and fourth graders.
Report cards will be released on Friday, October 28.
Group pictures and individual picture retakes will be done on Tuesday, November 1.
David Elementary School Friday, October 28th, as part of Red Ribbon Week, the school will have a Storybook Parade. Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook character and bring their book. The parade will begin at 8:15 a.m.
Ford Elementary School First and second grade students will perform skits during the nine-weeks Character Assemblies on October 27. The theme will be "Respect."
The Parent Teacher Organization is happy to announce that Stir Crazy Restaurant, located at 25 Waterway Avenue (across from the movie theater in The Woodlands,) has agreed to serve as a corporate sponsor for the school. At the recent Grandparents' Day Luncheons, Stir Crazy provided free desserts for over 300 visitors to the campus.
Galatas Elementary School The school's Motivational Productions will be held on Thursday, October 28, to help celebrate Red Ribbon Week. This multimedia program is designed to inspire, motivate and challenge students to make healthy choices and develop strong character.
Pumpkin Day will be celebrated on October 31. Students will students will have the opportunity to explore the science of pumpkins by measuring and comparing the properties of different pumpkin varieties. There will be several pumpkin experiments set up for all grade levels throughout the day.
The first annual Great Pumpkin Contest will be hosted on October 31. Students are encouraged to bring a decorated pumpkin to school between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. The pumpkins can be carved, painted, or embellished and will be on display for all to see during the school day.
Giesinger Elementary School The school's Fall Carnival will be held Friday, November 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Glen Loch Elementary School In a celebration of all things reading, the staff, students and parents on campus will enjoy an evening of activities, ideas, games, author Margaret McManis, and more on Thursday, October 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Individual student photograph retakes will be made on Thursday, October 27.
Grangerland Intermediate School Congratulations to the following members of the campus for being recognized as Ambassadors to the school by Conroe I.S.D. Superintendent and Board members: Jerry Payne, student; Deborah Rogers, paraprofessional; and Joyce Cox, educator.
Tony Parker Jr., a fifth grader, and Modesto Galvan, a sixth grader, each recently received a Golden Referral for displaying outstanding behavior.

Houston Elementary School Second grade students and their parents participated in Parent-Student Play Day. Some of the activities enjoyed were balance boards, horseshoes, hula hoops, jump ropes, pogo balls and spring balls, duck walking and team walking.
Knox Junior High School Student Council will sponsor Red Ribbon Week October 24-28. Students are encouraged to dress up for the various themed days. Monday, October 24, students may wear bright clothing and sunglasses for the day's theme: "I'm too bright to do drugs." Tuesday, October 25, students may wear "camo" clothing for the theme: "Join the Hunt – Fight Against Drugs." Wednesday, October 26, students may wear "nerdy" gear for the day's theme: "I'm Too Smart to Do Drugs." Thursday, October 27, students may find creative ways to wear duct tape for the theme: "Stick It to Drugs." Friday, October 28, students may dress like a super hero for the theme: "I'm Too Super to Do Drugs."
The Student Council will sponsor a school-wide dance on Friday, October 28, from 4:30-7 p.m. The theme of the dance is Halloween Monster Mash.
Orchestra students recently participated in the 2011 All Region Orchestra Auditions. Knox Orchestra students walked away with the highest number of students in the Conroe district to make the Junior High Region Orchestras.
Winner of the Knox Directory Cover Design Competition is Gabriella Voncordsen. Gabriella won a gift certificate to The Woodlands Mall, a school t-shirt, and school hoodie.
McCullough Junior High School The final pep rally of the year will be held in the gym on October 27. This is for the eighth grade and has a western theme. The Theater Production class will perform “The Knights of the Rad Table” by Pat Lyderson at the school during Sixth period on November 11. They will also be performing this play at the C.I.S.D. One Act Play Festival at Conroe High School on November 12.

Rice Elementary School Wednesday, October 26, the Conroe Fire Department will visit the campus.
Rodeo Day will be celebrated on Friday, October 28.
The Woodlands High School Ninth Grade Campus The "Green Out" pep rally will be held on Friday, October 28. Those recognized will be football, volleyball, tennis and cross country teams.
Tough K-6 School The school will be having its' first Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to noon. Students will learn about bicycle safety inspections, safety when riding your bike, and participate in an obstacle course.
Travis Intermediate School The week of October 24 - 28 is Red Ribbon Week. The school's theme for this week will be "Travis Gives Drugs the Boot!" The school will also be emphasizing the importance of saying "No" to drugs. On Monday, each grade will sign a pledge against drugs. Tuesday's theme for the day will be "Sock It to Drugs," and students are encouraged to wear crazy socks. Wednesday's theme will be "Team Up Against Drugs;" staff and students are asked to wear their favorite sports team shirt or color. Thursday will be "Friends Don't Let Friends Do Drugs" where all friends are encouraged to dress alike. On Friday, Team posters will be displayed in the hallways.
Vogel Intermediate School The school would like to congratulate the following people for being recognized as Ambassadors by the Conroe ISD: Cherryl Ward, Paraprofessional; Patrick Mills, Educator; and Drew Helberg, Student. This privilege recognizes individuals for their positive contributions to campus life and campus climate.

Washington Junior High School The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will be having a book drive starting October 31 through November 3. All new and gently used books will be accepted.
Wilkinson Elementary School The school's Storybook Pumpkin Contest is underway. Students from Pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade may choose their favorite storybook character and decorate a pumpkin to make it look like that character.
The first grade field trip will be on Wednesday, October 27.
The Parent Teacher Association's Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, November 1.
