CISD Board of Trustees Names New School

Graphic rendering of the outside of a schoolThe Board of Trustees named the new intermediate school in the Grand Oaks Feeder at their meeting Tuesday night.

After a brief discussion, what was commonly known as Flex 18 was officially named Katherine Johnson Clark Intermediate School. Clark, now retired, served in Conroe ISD for over 26 years as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and communications director. The school, currently under construction, is located at 4182 Trench Lane in the Woodson’s Reserve development in Spring and scheduled to open in August of 2018.

Following Board policy, Conroe ISD solicited suggestions from the public for the name of the school. Over 1,000 submissions were received through the District’s website. The names were presented to the Board of Trustees at their August meeting.
