Campus Updates: May 18 – 24

Bozman Intermediate
As Bozman’s End of the School Year approaches, we have several events that will be happening soon, so please visit our Bozman Webpage and follow our Twitter postings.

On May 16-17, we are welcoming our fourth grade elementary feeder campuses to visit during the school day with a Fourth Grader Parent Visit/presentation happening at 6 p.m. on May 17.

On May 20, several Bozman students have been selected to participate in Conroe High School’s Tiger Challenge.  Congratulations and well wishes on performing your best!

Fine Arts will enjoy their Field Trip to Incredible Pizza on Monday, May 23.  Only students that have turned in their permission forms will be allowed to go.

On Friday, May 27 in the morning, Bozman students are inviting their parents to the Pastries with Parents Social.

 

Broadway Elementary
On Thursday, May 19, our honor choir under the direction of Michael D. Kay, will perform a concert at 1:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, May 24, our third and fourth grade students are hosting an Academic Showcase from 6-7 p.m.  They will be presenting body systems.

Our Kindergarten program and promotion will be on Thursday, May 26, at 9 a.m.

Buckalew Elementary
Weekly, students have the opportunity to be nominated for a “Student of the Week” when they demonstrate any of the 7 Keys to Success we teach at our school.  Students nominated receive a special certificate to take home.  They are then entered into a weekly drawing.  The winners are on the announcements and are presented a “Principal’s Award” Medallion.  One student per grade level is drawn weekly.  Congratulations to the following students for the week of May 2.  They are Chase Jones, Caleb Seely, Ashwin Tripathi, Matthew McMullen and J.D. Rafferty.   For the week of May 9 the winners are:  Stanley Jaskot, Haydon Kob, Emileigh Lofgren, Maggie Meyer, and Caitlyn Patin.

 

 Bush Elementary
On Thursday, May 19, Bush Elementary will hold Field Day for kindergarten, first and second Grades.

Also on May 19, third and fourth Grades will have a Yearbook Signing.

On May 20, third and fourth grades will have their Field Day, while kindergarten, first and second Grades will have a Yearbook Signing.

 

Collins Intermediate
May 16, 1:15 p.m., Collins PTO Meeting, everyone is welcome to attend.

May 17 – May 19, fifth graders will be enjoying a field trip to the Creekside YMCA to participate in various team building activities and science experiments.

May 17 at 10 a.m., Collins Honor Band will participate in the Cavalier Band and Orchestra Contest.

May 18, sixth grade Envision project displays.

May 18 at 6:30 p.m., Spring Orchestra Concert at College Park High School.

May 19 all library books need to be returned to the Collins library.

 

Caney Creek High School
The Texas Association of Future Educators (T.A.F.E.) will have its end of year Luau is May 18. Please contact Ms. Lakin for more details.

Senior Awards Night will be held on Thursday, May 19 in the auditorium starting at 7 p.m.

The class of 2018 Dodgeball Tournament will be on Thursday, May 19 in gyms A and B from 3 to 6 p.m.  The cost is $7 per player with a maximum of 8 players per team.

The Choir Awards Ceremony and reception will be on Tuesday, May 24 in the LGI starting at 6 p.m.

 

Creighton Elementary
Friday, May 20, fourth grade students will present a living wax museum depicting historical figures. The students read biographies and researched famous people and then wrote an essay about why their person was influential. For the actual museum, students will dress in character, bring an artifact that represents what their person did to become successful. This experience allows the students to develop and strengthen many skills, including reading non-fiction materials, writing essays, creative thinking and public speaking. They also learned that many of these important people overcame adversity in their early lives and showed great perseverance.

Tuesday, May 24, fourth grade students will visit Grangerland Intermediate from 9:15 – 10:30 a.m. to tour the building and meet teachers and staff as they prepare to advance to the fifth grade.

 

Cryar Intermediate
Fourth graders from our feeder schools will visit Cryar on Thursday, May 19.

Future Tiger Challenge is Friday, May 20.

Fifth grade Field Day is Tuesday, May 24.

Sixth grade Spring Fling is Tuesday, May 24.

 

Giesinger Elementary
Wednesday, May 18, we will have the “Science Guy” presentation for all grade levels.  This will be a fun program to get students excited about science.

Fourth graders will be visiting Cryar Intermediate for a Fine Arts visit on Thursday, May 19.

Friday, May 20, fourth graders will be participating in Tiger Challenge with other fourth graders in the Conroe High School Feeder Zone.

 

Glen Loch Elementary
The South Montgomery Area Retired Teachers have donated many books to our students.

Thank you Spring Creek Barbeque for the generous donation to our Parent Teacher Organization of $1,200.

Thank you to Mama Juanita’s for having a gator takeover night and the donation.

The fourth grade Wax Museum will be held on Thursday May 19.  Field Day will be held on Friday, May 20 and always needs many volunteers.

 

Hailey Elementary
Celebration Day will be Friday, May 20, to celebrate our academic success. The students celebrate their academic achievements with indoor and outdoor activities. This day is only possible because of parent volunteers. We need volunteers to share a few hours to make it all work. Congratulations to ­­­­Mrs. Lovely’s, Mrs. Hiser’s, Mrs. Capan’s, Mrs. Nordenstam’s, and Ms. DeRoche’s classes for achieving their 10 Sailboat Awards this week. Attendance every day and all day helps students learn better.

Students can bring aluminum cans, foil, pans, and aluminum computer parts for recycling every Friday morning for our Cash for Cans program, which also helps support our school. Please deliver recyclables to the front porch when arriving at school.

 

Kaufman Elementary
Students and staff are still celebrating Children’s Book week, Wednesday, May 18 through Friday, May 20.  Each day is a different theme, allowing the campus to show off their love for books.

Fourth graders will be participating in the War Eagle Challenge at Oak Ridge High School, on Friday, May 20.

Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27, second graders will be participating in Camp Learned A Lot.  A week filled with fun activities that extend upon information the students have been learning throughout the year.

 

Mitchell Intermediate
The fifth grade Music Demonstration will be held on Wednesday, May 18.

Mitchell Intermediate students will participate in the Junior Achievement program on Wednesday, May 18.

The sixth grade students will take a Science Benchmark on Thursday, May 19.

LC 3 will go to Ball Metal Beverage Packaging facility in Conroe on Thursday, May 19, sponsored by our Parent Teacher Organization.

Fifth Grade Orchestra Concert will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Sixth Grade Orchestra Concert will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.

LCs 10, 11 and 12 will present their Envision Expo projects on, Friday, May 20, at 8 a.m.

The Fourth Quarter Magnificent Mustang Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 20 at 9:15 a.m.

The Mitchell Intermediate Math Bee will be held on Monday, May 23 in the school library.

The Fourth Grade Instrument Evaluation Night for Percussion and Saxophone will be held on Monday, May 23 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The sixth grade students will take a Social Studies Benchmark on Tuesday, May 24.

LC 4 will go to Ball Metal Beverage Packaging facility in Conroe on Tuesday, May 24, sponsored by our Parent Teacher Organization.

The fifth grade spring Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 6 p.m. in the Mitchell Intermediate Commons.

 

Reaves Elementary
Fourth Grade classes will visit Cryar Intermediate on Thursday. They will have a tour of campus and hear the orchestra, band and choir.

Titan Book Share from Coulson Tough Elementary Student Council is Friday, May 20. This is a chance to spend all those bees bucks our students have earned for good behavior.

 

Rice Elementary
The B B Rice Parent Appreciation Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, May 25 from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Rice third graders will display their GT Expo projects on Wednesday, May 25 from 11 a.m. until noon.

On Thursday, May 26 Rice kindergarten through third grade students will have their Field Day.

Kindergarten through third grade awards day will be Tuesday, May 31.

Kindergarten graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 9 a.m.

Thursday, June 2 is the last day of school for students.

 

Snyder Elementary
Students and parents will be enjoying our second grade program at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday May 19.

Friday May 20 our fourth graders will be participating in the Oak Ridge feeder zone War Eagle Challenge.

We welcome all of our wonderful volunteers to our Volunteer Breakfast on Monday March 23 at 8:30 a.m.

Our third graders will be presenting their Trash to Treasure projects at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 24.

 

Wilkerson Intermediate
The Orchestra Spring Concert rehearsal and pizza party will be Friday, May 20 from 4:30-8:30 p.m.

The fifth grade Band Spring Concert will be Tuesday, May 24 from 6-7 p.m. and the sixth grade Band spring concert will follow at 7-8p.m at College Park High School.

 

Wilkinson Elementary
Thursday, May 19 third grade field day and picnic. Friday, May 20 Rockin Reader Carnival and fourth grade Tiger Challenge.

Tuesday, May 24 Lionopoly Celebrations in the library.
