Dr. Ann Snyder
is the Past President of the Board, having served two years as
Board President. Dr. Snyder has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education
from Colorado State University, a Master of Education degree from the
University of Missouri at Columbia, and a Doctorate in curriculum and
instruction from Baylor University. Currently, she is the Executive Director
of Interfaith of The Woodlands. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Snyder
served as the Director of Clinical and Field Experience and an Assistant
Professor at the University of Houston. She has also served in the field of
education as a reading specialist, high school English teacher, adjunct
college instructor and educational consultant for the state department.
Snyder, who is an advocate for all children, sees reading as the key to all
learning. She has devoted years of service to the Conroe ISD, serving as a
member of the District’s Strategic Planning Task Force, the Parent Advisory
Committee, a leader in the successful 1994, 1998, 2001 and 2004 Bond
Referendums, and was an active member in implementing the inclusive process
that led to the development of 2007: A Vision for CISD and the District’s
Five-Year Improvement Plan.
In the seventeen years since she moved to The Woodlands, she served as a
parent on the boards of five different CISD PTA/Os, volunteered and raised
funds for numerous school clubs and athletic groups and currently is one of
the sponsors of two Interact Clubs. In addition, she is active in many
community organizations including Past President of The Rotary Club of The
Woodlands, Past President of National Charity League, Past President of WJGA,
EfTA Board of Directors, HEART of Montgomery County, South County Chamber of
Commerce, Martin Luther King Committee and the YMCA Board of Directors for
South Montgomery County.
Dr. Snyder's term expires in 2008.
