Dr. Ann Snyder
is the current Secretary of the Board and has served two terms as Board
President. Dr. Snyder has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Colorado State University, a Master of Education degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and a Doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Baylor University. Currently, she is the
President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, a nonprofit. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Snyder served as the Director of Clinical and Field Experience and an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston. She has also served in the field of education as a reading specialist, high school English teacher, adjunct college instructor and educational consultant for the state department. Snyder, who is an advocate for all children, sees reading as the key to all learning. She has devoted years of service to the Conroe ISD, serving as a member of the District’s Strategic Planning Task Force, the Parent Advisory Committee, a leader in the successful 1994, 1998, 2001 and 2004 Bond Referendums, and was an active member in implementing the inclusive process that led to the development of 2007: A Vision for CISD and the District’s Five-Year Improvement Plan.
During the twenty years living in The Woodlands, Snyder has served in many capacities as a parent on the boards of five different CISD PTA/Os, volunteered and raised funds for numerous school clubs and athletic groups and the
sponsor of two high school Interact Clubs. In addition, she is active in many community organizations including Past President of The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, Past President of National Charity League, Past President of WJGA, EfTA Board of Directors, HEART of Montgomery County, Executive Women’s Alliance Board of Directors, South County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Martin Luther King Committee and formerly serving on the YMCA Board of Directors for South Montgomery County and Friends of the Library Board of Directors. Snyder has also received numerous honors: The Woodlands
2000 Hometown Hero, Montgomery County Woman of Distinction (twice), South Montgomery County People of The Year (twice), 2007 Citizen of The Year, Grand Island Hall of Fame Inductee, The Woodlands Rotary Paul Harris Award (twice), Rotary International Service Above Self Award, Rotary District 5910 Hall of Fame Recipient,
2007 Junior League Sustainer of the Year, 2007 South Montgomery County
Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, and 2009 Drum Major Award.
Dr. Snyder's term expires in 2012.
